The sixteen tile panel is pattern number 57 in the Maw & Co 1853 catalogue (the company was founded in 1850), and the design was adapted (probably by John Hornby Maw) from medieval tiles originally at Great Bedwyn Church, Wiltshire

Large panel as shown has been sold incorporating 4.25″ Encaustic tiles by Maw & Co with a central group of tiles featuring a 8 petal flower within a circle in red brown on buff background stock code 4045. These tiles are surrounded by complimentary buff fleur de lys with circles and dots. We have only 3 of the central tiles and 3 of the corner tiles
Dimensions per tile in mm : 106mm square by 14mm thick .
